The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society invites you…

* A 10-day Musical Study and Culture Tour for Students, Parents, Teachers and Friends of the Arts *

Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to experience one of the great cultural capitals of the world.  Founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, St. Petersburg (Petrograd) was the capital of imperial Russia for 2 centuries and the home of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Dostoevsky, and Shostakovich, to name a few. You’ll tour such venues as the world-famous Hermitage Museum, the Winter Palace, historic churches, take a one-day visit to the Peterhof Imperial summer residence, the city of fountains, and enjoy an evening of ballet at the fabled Mariinsky Theatre.  The climax of your stay will be a nighttime boat cruise along the water channels of St. Petersburg, and down the Neva river with its famous open bridges.

The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society offers a unique and comprehensive program of musical study in combination with cultural tours and excursions designed to inspire and stimulate the creative insight of young artists.

Participation is limited to 30 students. There is no age limit, but participants under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

This select class of pianists and string players will participate in a full program of musical study including: three individual lessons, group lessons, lectures and performances, including an open masterclass with a professor from the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and 3 evening concerts of faculty and students. One of the concert venues is truly unique: the memorial apartment-museum of Rimsky-Korsakov. Daily lessons, classes and practicing will take place in the St. Petersburg Music School Nr. 19 located just a 5-minute walk from your hotel.

Parents, teachers and friends are cordially welcomed to participate as "Musical Tourists." The price of the tour-package includes visa support, transfer to and from the airport, accommodation in 3-star hotel, breakfasts, lunches, transportation to the concerts, all entrance tickets, guided city-tour, and excursions to the Hermitage. Also, there will a one-day visit to Peterhof Imperial summer residence, the city of fountains.
